'New Moon' beats 'Harry Potter' at midnight

The vampires and wolves defeated the young wizard at the North American box office Thursday night, as "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" bagged a solid $26.27 million from midnight screenings yesterday.
Indeed, "New Moon" beat the record set by "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," which brought in $22.2 million from midnight screenings. That's quite an impressive start for the "Twilight" sequel.
Additionally, "New Moon" should easily blow up the box office this weekend, as the Chris Weitz-directed film is now playing in 4,024 theaters, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson are back, and I want to know what you thought. Go here and share your thoughts and comments about "New Moon."

It has broken for the first day record too buy bringing 80 million on it's first day beating Dark Knight which was 67 million but it won't beat the weekend record set by Dark Knight which was 158 million that's my verdict for sure.
I am sorry the number is 72 million nit 80 million my mistake
