George Strait's 'Pure Country' gets a sequel

George Strait's 1992 film "Pure Country" will get a sequel, and director Christopher Cain will return to direct "A Pure Country Gift," which he and his son Dean Cain ("Lois & Clark") wrote together.
Country music star Strait will star in the film, which Cain said won't be a straight sequel, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Cain said he got the idea by seeing many famous people disintegrate.
"Gift" follows a baby girl who receives a beautiful singing voice from three angels. When she breaks some of the angels' rules later on in her life, they return to take her voice away, as a punishment.
Dang, that sounds incredibly cheesy, doesn't it? Anyway, newcomer Katrina Elam plays the lead character. "A Pure Country Gift" is filming in Nashville, Tenn.
