'Avatar' featurette dives into story, themes

A new international "Avatar" featurette has debuted online, and you can check it out after the jump. This one takes some time introducing the central story line, as well as the numerous themes of the film.

James Cameron's 3D action epic opens Dec. 18, 2009, and as you can see in this clip, there is a lot going on in terms of story and messages. That said, the main concept behind the idea is not entirely new.

"Avatar" takes us to a spectacular world beyond our imagination, where a reluctant hero embarks on a journey of redemption, discovery and unexpected love, as he leads a heroic battle to save a civilization.

In other words, Sam Worthington lands on a planet inhabited by an alien population. The humans are destroying the place for valuable minerals, and Worthington's character has to infiltrate the alien race.

Only, he will do this inside one of their bodies. Next thing you know, he meets a chick and sees how peaceful these creatures are, and sooner or later, he turns his back on the human race.

No spoiler alert needed for all this, because every new trailer or spot pretty much shows you what I just wrote. If you want to know a bit more about the film, check out this three-minute featurette.

It looks like an insane action movie just can't for it to watch it in 3d.I hope it will prove that James Cameron is again master of film making and a visionary director and has still that in him.Zoe character look to kick some ass in the movie I think. Thanks for uploading it.This will defenitely change the way movies being made in 3d and show how good the 3d is about enhancing the movie and not about poking in the eye like gigmick 3d.
