'Young @ Heart' remake finds new writer

I'm not exactly sure this is a great idea, but Working Title has found a new writer for its narrative remake of 2008's excellent documentary "Young @ Heart." The guy's name is Will Reiser.

Reiser recently penned Nicole Holofcener's untitled cancer comedy starring James McAvoy as a young man who learns he has cancer. It's based on Reiser's own experiences.

The original doc follows Young at Heart, a chorus of senior citizens as they gear up for a big performance in their hometown of Northampton, Massachusetts. (Read my review here)

Here's to hoping they'll find a cast as energetic and awesome as the folks we've seen and heard in the original "Young @ Heart." Those people are simply impossible to replace.
