'New Moon' beats all Fandango advance sales

No, this is not a joke. "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" is now officially the top-selling pre-release title in Fandango's 10-year history. The upcoming "Twilight" sequel beat the record Saturday evening.

Chris Weitz's "New Moon" is currently grabbing 86% of weekly ticket sales at the online ticket shop. Thousands of Thursday midnight screenings are already sold out, but tickets to showings are still avaliable.

"For many fans, it's clearly the year's most anticipated film event," said Rick Butler, Fandango chief operating officer. "Ever since tickets went on sale on August 31, it's been among our top five weekly ticket-sellers, as 'New Moon' has a strong pull on audiences."

He said, "We're seeing a higher-than-usual number of tickets per transaction for this film, suggesting that moviegoers will show up en masse at theaters this weekend with their friends and family."

The Top 5 Advance Ticket-Sellers on Fandango (as of Nov. 15, 2009) are now as follows:

    1. The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009)
    2. Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)
    3. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009)
    4. The Dark Knight (2008)
    5. Twilight (2008)

I seriously hate this movie but liked the book though .I know it has a fan base among women and many others and it may crank 100 million domestically but I feel this movie will never get good reviews like it's first part Twilight.I wanted this part to be good and better than the first but after watching the clips I doubt it will be good it looks bad as the first one.
