Oscar-nominated "Brokeback Mountain" star Jake Gyllenhaal is almost set to star in Duncan Jones' new sci-fi thriller "Source Code," which Summit Entertainment will bring to theaters.
Variety says the film will focus on a soldier who wakes up in the body of a commuter and relives a train bombing until he figures out who's behind the attack. Sounds a bit like "Deja Vu" to me.
Ben Ripley wrote the original script, and Billy Ray did some rewrites. Jones last directed "Moon" with Sam Rockwell and is currently developing "Mute."
As for Jake, he will next be seen in Jim Sheridan's "Brothers." Dude also has a bunch of projects in development, including "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time," "Nailed" and "Love and Other Drugs."
Last word: Dang, Gyllenhaal was so darn awesome in "Donnie Darko," don't you think?
