Oscar-nominated actor Mark Wahlberg, who recently starred in "Max Payne," is taking a trip to "Reykjavik-Rotterdam," Working Title's remake of Óskar Jónasson's 2008 Icelandic thriller of the same title.

The story follows a security guard and ex alcohol smuggler who considers returning to the illegal business after he runs into financial trouble. Aaron Guzikowski ("Prisoners") will write the script.

The Hollywood Reporter says Baltasar Kormákur, who starred in the original "Reykjavik," is in talks to direct the remake. The accalimed original film is Iceland's entry for the upcoming Oscars foreign film race.

Wahlberg has four high-profile projects coming up soon: "The Lovely Bones" by Peter Jackson, "The Fighter," "Date Night" and "The Other Guys." The actor's recent credits include "The Happening" and "We Own the Night."
