Big Hollywood casting update: Kirsten Prout joins 'Eclipse;' Chris Messina boards 'Devil'

Here is a list of recent casting news straight out of Hollywood via the trades and the Web:

• Kirsten Prout from "Kyle XY" and "Elektra" is joining Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in David Slade's "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," which is shooting now. E! reports she will play Lucy, a vampire gal who teams up with Maria, played by Catalina Sandino Moreno.

• Evan Rachel Wood is the latest to join James McAvoy, Robin Wright Penn and Justin Long in Robert Redford's "The Conspirator," a drama about Mary Surratt, the only woman in a group charged with conspiring to kill Lincoln.Wood's recent credits include "Whatever Works" and "The Wrestler." (THR)

• Chris Messina is set to star in John Erick Dowdle and Drew Dowdle's upcoming horror thriller "Devil," based on a story by M. Night Shyamalan. Logan Marshall-Green, Jenny O'Hara, Jacob Vargas and Matt Craven also boarded the film about the adventures of a homicide detective. (Variety, THR)

• Will Ferrell has signed on to star in Dan Rush's indie drama "Everything Must Go," in which the actor plays a man who tries to sell his possessions after losing his job and being kicked out by his wife. Ferrell will also soon be seen in "The Other Guys." (Variety)

• Ian Somerhalder from "The Vampire Diaries" will star in "Cradlewood," a romanic fairy tale about an heir who believes he will die if a boy is born into his family. Stephen Sewell and John Paul Chapple wrote the script, and Harry Weinmann will direct the film. (THR)

• This is still kind of a rumor at this point, but AICN says German actor Matthias Schweighöfer told Germany's GQ he may end up joining Kenneth Branagh's "Thor." He also said Jude Law and Robert De Niro will also star in the film. I hope we will hear more about this soon.

• While we're at it, why not another casting rumor? AICN says Jackie Earle Haley may end up joining "The Green Lantern," which also stars Ryan Reynolds. He could end up playing Sinestro, and, get this, even Superman may end up making a cameo in the film.

• Adriana Barraza, Camilla Belle and Alexa Vega have boarded Fina Torres' upcoming Lionsgate romantic comedy "From Prada to Nada," about two spoiled sisters who are forced to move in with their aunt in East Los Angeles after their father suddenly dies and all their funds are cut off. (THR)

• Joshua Leonard, who recently starred in "Humpday," will star in and direct "The Lie," based on a short story by T.C. Boyle. The film follows a man who tells a lie to get out of work and change his life. Kelli Garner, P.J. Ransone, Gerry Bednob and Kirk Baltz co-star in the flick. (Variety)

• And just in case you missed this: Charlize Theron is no longer involved with "The Tourist," remake of 2005's French thriller “Anthony Zimmer.” Risky Business says Angelina Jolie is now in talks to take over her role. Jolie will soon be seen in "Salt."
