Chris Pine to play the new Jack Ryan

Chris Pine will soon be all over the big screen. The "Star Trek" actor is keeping himself really busy, and now he's even in talks to play CIA analyst Jack Ryan in Paramount's upcoming franchise reboot.
Not much is known about the project at this stage, but Variety says Pine is already in negotiations to play the character in the film based on Tom Clancy's novels. Hossein Amini wrote a script draft.
Of course, this is not the first time Ryan appears on the big screen. The character previously showed up in "The Hunt for Red October," "Patriot Games," "Clear and Present Danger" and "The Sum of All Fears."
Pine just recently entered talks to play Art Williams in D.J. Caruso's "The Art of Making Money," a Paramount drama based on a 2005 Rolling Stone article that later turned into a Jason Kersten novel.
Pine is also currently shooting "Unstoppable" with Denzel Washington for Tony Scott. Pine's acting credits also include "Just My Luck" and "The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement."
