Brand-new photos from Cameron's 'Avatar' debut

New photo from Avatar

The folks at Spoiler TV today received a handful of new photos from James Cameron's upcoming 3D sci-fi action epic "Avatar," and you can check out some of them after the jump. The film opens Dec. 18, 2009.

Avatar" takes us to a spectacular new world beyond our imagination, where a reluctant hero embarks on a journey of redemption, discovery and unexpected love, as he leads a heroic battle to save a civilization.

Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Michelle Rodriguez, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Peter Mensah and Zoe Saldana star. The pictures below give you a closer look at some of the film's aliens.

I enjoyed the recent trailer for "Avatar," but I still don't completely buy the look of these aliens. Maybe it will all fall into the right place when I see the film, but for now, these folks look just too goofy for my taste.

I just hope the story of the movie turns out good like his previous movies. I don't care about the hype or it is photo real ,I just want it to see in 3d and tell that 3d is here to stay and James Cameron has done it again.

I agree with joe.
Just to enjoy someone's creation and vision for what it is, is what makes it fun to watch movies. It doesn't matter for me if it's not 100% photo-realistic, it already looks good enough to me. It looks great.

This is a movie for kids, specifically boys. That's why so many people are disappointed.

I am sure it will be one of the best though.
