Jimmy Hayward to direct 'Jonah Hex'

Jimmy Hayward has signed on to direct the big-screen adaptation of John Albano and Tony DeZuniga’s graphic novel “Jonah Hex.”

"Crank" creators Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor were originally attached to helm the film, but they recently dropped out because of creative differences. Josh Brolin is still attached to star.

Hayward most recently directed "Horton Hears a Who!" He also worked as a Pixar animator on films such as "Toy Story" and "Finding Nemo."

Not much is known about the plot of the film, but Hex is a bounty hunter and gunslinger with a scarred face. Apparently, the film version is a sort of sci-fi western featuring plenty of CG.
