Mickey Rourke in talks to join 'Broken Horses'

Is Mickey Rourke a popular guy or what?

The Oscar-nominated actor is in negotiations to star in Vidhu Vinod Chopra's Hollywood debut "Broken Horses."

The Hollywood Reporter describes the project as a gangster flick, but no further plot details have been announced yet.

"Horses" is based on Chopra's original story, which Abhijat Joshi and Jason Richman are turning into a screenplay.

The trade also says Chopra was impressed by Rourke's performance in "The Wrestler."

I mean, who isn't? Rourke's had a great year in 2008, and his quick comeback is a memorable one. Besides starring in the upcoming "13," he also recently nabbed a role in Sly's "The Expendables."
