Fox to release 'A-Team' film in 2010!

"The A-Team" is definitely happening, and the film could open in theaters as early as June 11, 2010.

Acording to Variety, Twentieth Century Fox has hired Joe Carnahan to direct the big-screen version of the 1980s television hit series.

Also on board are Ridley Scott, who will produce the project, and Tony Scott, who will take on the role of executive producer.

Carnahan will team up with Brian Bloom to revise a script by Skip Woods, whose writing credits include "Swordfish" and "Hitman." Plans are to head into production this summer.

"Tony and I feel that marrying this Scott Free project with Joe's sensibility will result in a fast-paced, exciting franchise, one we hope will be around for years to come," Scott told Variety.

Not much has been said about the film's plot, but Carnahan and the Scotts said they will use the premise of the series as a starting point. Well... that's a start.

Just in case you can't remember who Joe Carnahan is, he directed "Narc" and "Smokin' Aces." He also co-wrote "Pride and Glory."

Are you excited about an "A-Team" flick? And who should really play who in this flick? Share your suggestions below.

As overexposed as he has been lately, Dwayne Johnson would be a natural for Baracas, but I could also see Michael Clarke Duncan in the role as well.
