Sacha Baron Cohen's 'Bruno' pushed to July
Just last week Sony Pictures pushed back Roland Emmerich's "2012" from July 10 to Nov. 13, and the first studio to make a move on that free spot is Universal.
As Variety reports, Universal moved Sacha Baron Cohen's new comedy "Bruno" from May 15 to July 10. The film will now open against Chris Columbus' "I Love You, Beth Cooper."
Much like “Borat,” Cohen's "Bruno" follows one of his eccentric characters on his quest to trick people into believing he’s real.
Created on Cohen’s popular TV show “Da Ali G Show,” Bruno is an Austrian fashionista and celebrity journalist who comes to America to interview famous people.
Usually I don't like these release moves too much, especially if it's a film I am really excited to see, but in this case, I really can't complain. I'll be moving that weekend in May and would not have been able to catch "Bruno" until later anyway.
