Screenwriter Steven Rogers will adapt Shanna Swendson's novel "Enchanted, Inc." for Strike Entertainment, according to Variety.
The plot follows a small-town woman who comes to New York and discovers magic is and has been a common thing in the Big Apple for centuries. Because she has absolutely no magic inside her, she possesses the ability to see through any spell.
Rogers is the guy who also wrote "Stepmom," the decent romantic comedy "Kate & Leopold," and the disastrous "P.S. I Love You."
I haven't read the book and obviously don't know what happens to this woman, but at this stage, this all sounds like "Sex and the City" meets "Enchanted." But who knows, maybe they'll come up with something as enjoyable as "Ella Enchanted" or something.
Swendson's novel first debuted in 2005.

Enchanted, Inc is probably closer to Harry Potter meets Bridget Jones. The series is pretty funny, if you ever want a fun read. (One of the main villians is ADD.)
Enchanted Inc is an awesome book (and and series) and I am so glad that they are considering doing a screen version.
This series is so great, very funny. I can't wait to see the movie version.
I just discovered this series of books while wandering randomly around my local library, and I completely love them! I cannot wait to see Katie Chandler come to life. Hopefully this film does Shanna's characters justice.
