Eddie Murphy in 'Imagine That' trailer
Could Karey Kirkpatrick's upcoming comedy "Imagine That" be the hit Eddie Murphy so desperately needs?
I'm not quite sure at this point. The trailer below the jump doesn't exactly look as bad as Murphy's previous misstep "Meet Dave," but it doesn't exactly look that intriguing either. In fact, it looks rather boring.
Murphy plays Evan Danielson, a successful financial executive who has more time for his blackberry than his 7-year-old daughter. When he has a crisis of confidence and his career starts going down the drain, however, he finds the solution to all his problems in his daughter's imaginary world.
"Imagine That" is set to open June 12, 2009. Thomas Haden Church, Nicole Ari Parker and James Patrick Stuart co-star. Kirkpatrick most recently co-directed "Over the Hedge."
Do you think this looks like the kind of movie to resurrect Murphy's career? Sound off below.

His career as a voice over specialist seems fine. I don't think he is funny as a comedy actor. This movie won't hurt, and may not help.
