Brendan Fraser is joining Harrison Ford in Tom Vaughan's upcoming drama "Crowley," which heads into production this April.

Based on the true story of John (Fraser) and Aileen Crowley, the plot follows a couple who finds a researcher (Ford) with a potential cure for their two children's rare genetic disorder.

ComingSoon says Ford is also on board as executive producer of the project, which is inspired by a "Wall Street Journal" article and Geeta Anand's book "The Cure."

Robert Nelson Jacobs, whose credits include "Chocolat" and "The Water Horse," wrote the screenplay. Vaughan also helmed "Starter for 10" and "What Happens in Vegas."

Fraser was last seen in "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor." He will next star in Iain Softley's family adventure "Inkheart."
