It’s just a rumor at this point, but according to Cinema Blend, Tom Cruise is being considered to lend his voice to one of the villains you’ll see in DreamWorks Animations’ “Shrek Goes Fourth,” which is due in theaters in 2010.
As Josh points out, not much is known about the film at this stage. What we do know is that Mike Mitchell is going to direct. His credits include “Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo,” the disastrous “Surviving Christmas” and the better “Sky High.”
Tom Cruise voicing a bad guy in a “Shrek” sequel? Well, why not? Chances are the film’s not going to be great anyway. I really enjoyed the first and second film in the series, but the enthusiasm started to wear off in “Shrek the Third.”
I’m not a big Tom Cruise fan, although I openly admit that I absolutely loved his recent cameo in Ben Stiller’s “Tropic Thunder.” Cruise will next be seen in “Valkyrie.”
