Five worst films of the summer of '08

The summer season at the movies has come to and end, and it's time to look back at what films really stank this year. Here are the five worst films of the summer of '08.

5. MIRRORS
While he kicks serious butt on television, Kiefer Sutherland is not exactly a hero on the big screen, and his stunt in "Mirrors" is pretty much disastrous. Besides a series of cheap shock effects and a couple of ridiculous twists, Alexandre Aja's disappointing horror remake barely has anything to offer for the return of the price of admission. Scares and an intriguing story are absent.

4. FLY ME TO THE MOON 3-D
"Fly Me to The Moon" boasts a great animation, but that's it already. The film's story line is incredibly boring, the characters are forgettable, and the lack of suspense or innovation causes serious damage to the pace of the plot. Despite enjoying the cool look for a couple of minutes, I ended up having serious trouble staying awake during this one.

3. MEET DAVE
You can hate me for saying this, but I hated "Norbit" and was hoping Eddie Murphy would start selecting his projects more carefully. Well, I was wrong. "Meet Dave" is the epitome of a cheap family flick that is anything but funny, compelling or just remotely entertaining. Sitting through this one was quite a painful experience.

2. COLLEGE
I'm not even sure there is much to say about this primitive teen comedy. "College" takes pleasure in borrowing entire scenes from other flicks we've seen in the past, minus the humor of course. Lame dialogue and countless toilet jokes guaranteed this one a safe spot in this list.

1. DISASTER MOVIE
The title says it all. "Disaster Movie" was voted No. 1 on IMDb's Bottom Top 100, and I can easily understand why: the film is nothing but an embarrassingly stupid and utterly boring spoof that features a bunch of untalented actors behaving like retards. Again, you can hate me if you think I'm too harsh on this one, but this kind of movie just makes me sick.

I considered the following films but decides not to include them in the final chart: "Hancock," "You Don't Mess With thr Zohan," "The X-Files: I Want to Believe" and "The House Bunny."
