Nicholas Cage is back on the big screen, and it seems his hair still hasn't improved. In Danny and Oxide Pang's "Bangkok Dangerous," he plays a hit man who travels to Bangkok for a job but ends up falling in love with a local. I'll check out the flick myself later today and will post me review soon, but for now, let's see what the online film community has to say about this:

• Katey Rich at Cinema Blend: "The Pangs take great care in creating gorgeous shots, and establishing an enchanting, slightly mystical sense of place. The problem is that it all just seems silly when folded into the shoot-'em-up plot."

• Cinematical's William Goss: "It's fairly identical to the Pangs' original screenplay, but this version has still been punched up by the States' own Jason Richman to ensure that no cliché went unturned in the translation."

• Collider's Brian Orndorf: "It turns out Bangkok isn't very dangerous. It's glacial, abysmally photographed, dreadfully acted, faintly plotted, and frequently absurd. But dangerous? Not really."

• Fred Thom at La Plume-Noire: "Sharp and edgy editing, saturated colors and an omnipresent soundtrack blending with the images create a visually stunning film."
