Brad Furman to direct thriller ‘Valet’

Filmmaker Brad Furman is set to direct Alcon Entertainment’s upcoming thriller “Valet,” according to Variety.

Based on a script by Alan B. McElroy and rewritten by Matthew Aldrich, the film springs from the true story of a parking attendant who became obsessed with a female customer and literally penetrated into her life.

Furman’s directing credits include “The Take,” starring Tyrese Gibson and John Leguizamo. As for McElroy, he wrote films such as “Wrong Turn,” “Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever” and “The Marine.” Aldrich penned the screenplay for Renny Harlin’s “Cleaner.”

This pretty much sounds like a remake of Franck Khalfoun’s disappointing horror thriller “P2.” Where are the new, original ideas folks? We’ve seen all this too many times already.
