Nicole Kidman is attached to produce and star in “The Eighth Wonder,” an action adventure that Simon Kinberg will write for 20th Century Fox, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Specific details about the film are still unknown of course, but the plot focuses on an important archeological discovery that triggers a perilous race around the world. Sounds a bit like “Rat Race” combined with “Indiana Jones.”
The trade also points out that Kidman met Kinberg back when she was still attached to star in “Mr. & Mrs. Smith.” She later dropped out, handing the female lead role to Angelina Jolie.
Besides “Mr. & Mrs. Smith,” Kinberg collaborated on the scripts for “X-Men: The Last Stand,” “Jumper” and “Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian.”
Kidman most recently starred in “The Golden Compass,” which I admit I really enjoyed. Next up she can be seen in Baz Luhrmann’s big adventurous drama “Australia.”
