Nicholas Sparks to write film for Miley Cyrus

Good morning everybody. It's a new day and the film news are pouring in already. Let's start with some of the biggest news today: Nicholas Sparks will write a film for "Hannah Montana" star Miley Cyrus!

According to Variety, Sparks is currently writing an untitled novel that he is also simultaneously adapting for the big screen. The book will hit stores in fall 2009.

Although plot details are kept under wraps, producer Jennifer Gibgot said she hopes the style and genre of the film will be similar to 2002's Mandy Moore vehicle "A Walk to Remember." Furthermore, Sparks apparently intrigued Cyrus and her family with the idea for the novel.

"This is similar to the way it’s gone with movies based on my novels; it’s just out of order," Sparks told Variety. He said Cyrus is quite familiar with his past work, which helped in putting this project together.

I know we know nothing about the plot at this stage, but I think it's fair to assume that we'll get to see Cyrus plunge into a drama with lots of tears and heartwarming moments. Personally, I didn't like "A Walk to Remember" that much, but I am glad to admit I'm a big fan of "The Notebook."

The next film based on a Sparks novel is "Nights in Rodanthe," which will hit theaters Sept. 26. Miley Cyrus' next big-screen adventure is Disney's "Bolt," in which he voices one of the main characters.

So what do you think folks? Ready to see Cyrus grow up on the screen and tackle something more serious? Sound off below.
