Jason Statham’s next may be ‘The Grabbers’

The folks over at Empire Online recently caught up with Jason Statham, and judging by what they wrote, they had to be very excited to talk to the action star.

When asked what he would be doing next, Statham said he’s currently working on a project temporarily entitled “The Grabbers.”

“We’ve got a movie we’re trying to do, written by David and Janet Peoples, in the vein of an old film, ‘The Treasure Of The Sierra Madre,’” he told Empire.

The Peoples previously collaborated on the screenplay for Terry Gilliam’s “Twelve Monkeys.” David also co-wrote “Blade Runner” and “Unforgiven.”

Statham said that “The Grabbers” is not a done deal quite yet. Right now they’re apparently trying to come up with a budget.

Statham has two upcoming projects awaiting release: Olivier Megaton’s “Transporter 3” and Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor’s “Crank 2: High Voltage.”
