Universal Pictures has acquired the rights to the big-screen adaptation of Lauren Weisberger’s novel “Chasing Harry Winston,” according to Variety.
The story centers on three women who vow to completely change their lives. Apparently, the film version will put more focus on one of the three story lines.
Andy Tennant will direct a screenplay by Gina Wendkos, who also wrote “The Princess Diaries” and its sequel, “The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement.”
Tennant’s directing credits include “Sweet Home Alabama” and “Hitch.” He most recently directed Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson in “Fool’s Gold.”
Weisberger is the best-selling author of “The Devil Wears Prada” and “Everyone Worth Knowing.”
