Yes, the Man of Steel will return to the big screen once again. In a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal, Warner Bros. Pictures Group President Jeff Robinov said the studio will reboot the “Superman” franchise in the coming years.
Commenting on the disappointing box-office run of 2006’s “Superman Returns,” Robinov said, “It didn't position the character the way he needed to be positioned.”
But Warner is not giving up on the visitor from Krypton. "But now the plan is just to reintroduce Superman without regard to a Batman and Superman movie at all,” Robinov told the Journal.
That’s about all he had to say about a new “Superman” flick. Robinov did add however that they will have Clark Kent explore a darker side, much like Bruce Wayne did in this summer’s blockbuster “The Dark Knight.”
Robinov also chatted a bit about other future Warner projects. Click right here to read all about it.
So what do you think about this? Did you like “Superman Returns”? And what are your thoughts on the coming “Superman” reboot? Sound off just below.

Clark Kent turning to a darker side makes no sense, unless it's part of a Superman-Red/Superman-Blue type story. As positioned for the past 25 years, Clark/Superman is the antithesis to Bruce/Batman. The super boy scout juxtaposed against the shadowy dark knight. If they feel the need to reboot the franchise (again), why not jettison the whole idea of having a child with Lois off to a parallel universe and just stay true to the portrayal found within the comic books (although he doesn't need be married, nor have an adopted son as he is written currently). Heck, I wouldn't even mind seeing something like a cross between Lois & Clark and Smallville. Moonlighting with a little angst thrown in for the younger audience. I just don't think the public is going to accept a darker Clark. That's not who he is nor ever has been for most of his 70+ years as an American and global icon. If this is the route WB takes, they had better be ready to accept more disappointing box-office numbers from what could otherwise be a great franchise to run opposite and counter to their Bat franchise.
Here's the deal if you ask me...Clark can't become darker without the aid of some multicolored radioactive rock from another planet...so instead of that bs...which even in the comics i never liked because it's such an easy way out for writers....they need to make the choice of clark going dark to be one of true human emotional turmoil. So one way to do that is to kill off someone that Clark truly cares about. So how do you do that you ask? well...hmm.,... no prob. We know that Clark must end up with Lois, and we know Jimmy and Ma and Pa are too important. But what if Lex Luthor manages to kill Lana Lang, the very first love of Clarks life!? I don't know about you but if the love of my life was suddenly to be murdered i'd get pretty peeved about it. Now Superman can't kill anyone, wouldn't be right. But....what if this is before SUPERMAN, what if Clark hasn't become SUPERMAN yet and it's because of this cataclysmic event to Clark that he ends up inadvertently killing the man responsible (obviously not Lex)...maybe he does this by not making an effort to save him and to let him die...and for this the Fortress, and ultimately Jor-El punishes Clark by taking away his powers and shoving him into a series of tests and challenges to earn his powers back and vow to never take Human life again! Now THAT would be a dark yet highly rewarding story of courage, strength and redemption! If you ask me...don't go with GOOD and BAD Superman, because that would be dumb.
