Ashton Kutcher is set to produce and star in Columbia Pictures’ upcoming comedy “Like Father,” Variety reported earlier today.
The pitch by Ian Deitchman and Kristin Rusk Robinson follows a father and son who are forced to deal with their damaged relationship when they have baby sons at the same time.
Oscar-nominated writer-director Kenneth Lonergan, who helmed the excellent “You Can Count on Me,” will rewrite the draft. He also recently completed “Margaret,” starring Anna Paquin, Matt Damon and Mark Ruffalo.
Kutcher most recently starred in Tom Vaughan’s “What Happens in Vegas.” He will next be seen alongside Michelle Pfeiffer in David Hollander’s indie drama “Personal Effects.”
NOTE: Variety calls the film "Like Father," whereas The Hollywood Reporter claims it's "Father's Day." Now which is it? We'll post an update as soon as we find out.
