Tom Cruise may board ‘The Tourist’

Tom Cruise is currently in negotiations with Spyglass Entertainent to star in Bharat Nalluri’s upcoming thriller “The Tourist,” according to Variety.

A remake of the 2005 French thriller “Anthony Zimmer,” the film centers on an American tourist who faces danger when a female Interpol agent tricks him into taking out a criminal she once had an affair with.

Nalluri, who most recently helmed “Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day,” will direct a script by “Gosford Park” screenwriter Julian Fellowes.

Cruise will next be seen in Bryan Singer’s World War II drama “Valkyrie,” which is now scheduled for release Dec. 26

The original “Anthony Zimmer” was directed by Jerome Salle and starred Yvan Attal and Sophie Marceau.
