DreamWorks Animations CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg had a lot to say Wednesday at a preview of the studio’s upcoming animated adventure “Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
First, Katzenberg said he’s eyeing at least one more “Madagascar” sequel in the near future. In the first film, which grossed $193.1 million domestically, four New York zoo animals accidentally ended up in Madagascar.
In the upcoming sequel, the four attempt to return to the Big Apple but eventually end up in Africa. Katzenberg said he would like audiences to find out how the lion, zebra, giraffe and hippo finally make it back home.
Furthermore, Katzenberg also spilled a few details about a potential sequel to this year’s success hit “Kung Fu Panda.” Although nothing is confirmed quite yet, he said the studio should be ready to make an announcement about the possible project within a few months.
Since its June 6 release, “Panda” has grossed $208.9 million domestically.
What do you guys think about all this? Are you excited about all these potential sequels? Or do you think it’s time to cage the computer-generated animals at DreamWorks for good? Sound off below.

I think a sequel is good just as long as it does not end up being milked just for the money it brings in. One movie I would die for to see a sequel for is Flushed Away. I really think that Dreamworks are getting a bit too fond of sequels and spinoffs.
