Hollywood producer-writer-director J.J. Abrams is teaming up with screenwriter David Seltzer to develop an earthquake movie for Universal, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
As usual with Abrams (see "Cloverfield"), nobody knows anything about the untitled film's plot at this point, except that it involves an earthquake of some sort. And chances are nobody will know anything until the film's release.
At this stage, Abrams is only attached to produce the project via Bad Robot. He's currently wrapping his reboot of "Star Trek," which is scheduled to hit theaters May 8, 2009.
Seltzer's writing credits include "The Omen" and "Dragonfly."
So yes, this is all we know at this point. Once the film heads into production, I'm sure we'll get a similar secret "Cloverfield" teaser treatment at some stage.
