Taylor Hackford will direct “Tenn,” a drama about the life of playwright Tennessee Williams, according to Variety.

The biopic focuses on how Williams’ relationships with his close family members pushed him to write famous plays such as “A Streetcar Named Desire” and “The Glass Menagerie.”

Hackford will be directing a script by Robin Shushan, who recently wrote a screenplay based on the J. Paul Getty kidnapping for Peter Berg.

The project’s producer Michael Ohoven said the film will bear some similarities to “Capote,” in which author Truman Capote developed a special relationship with one of two murderers.

Hackford last directed the Ray Charles biopic “Ray.” He recently wrapped filming for “Love Ranch,” a drama starring his wife Helen Mirren and Joe Pesci.
