Rob Cohen returns to the big screen this weekend with “The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor,” the third installment in the series starring Brendan Fraser as a legionnaire who battles evil creatures. The nation’s top critics pretty much trashed the flick, but let’s see what the online film fans have to say about the sequel. (Note: We will post our review and video review shortly).
• Scott Gwin at CinemaBlend: "Painfully unbalanced, "Dragon Emperor" takes itself too seriously in the drama department and not seriously enough when it comes to humor and action."
• Joblo's JimmyO: "No, the real problem with this film is just the constant barrage of over the top heroics and ridiculously lame dialogue. The special effects seem to be much better this time around, but after awhile it was just overkill."
• Brian Orndorf at Collider: "It's a rotten, stubborn directorial endeavor, and since Cohen has little appreciation for legitimate big screen magic, "Tomb" suffocates under the filmmaker's bile-slicked mandate that every single frame must contain a screaming or explosive element."
• LatinoReview's Ron Henriques: "I don't know about you, but I've had it with movies that feature hundreds of thousands of CGI warriors going head to head. Even when done well, it doesn't work without much of a story."
• Brad Brevet at RopeofSilicon: "If you have seen a trailer you have seen it all, you just don't know how coincidentally everything fits into the plot."
• Cinematical's Jette Kernion: "The actors sell the dialogue as capably as they can, trying to emulate the snappy lines and easy wit of 1930s romantic comedies or at least classic action films. Unfortunately, the lines are so trite and dumb and unfunny that they elicit puzzlement rather than humor."
Well, that sure doesn't look good now does it? I guess they should have never brought this mummy back to life. What do you think? Did you like the flick?

who cares about "the mummy"? i mean, honestly, it's been HOW LONG since the last one came out? that one sucked too. bottom line is this..."the mummy" series is just a lame attempt to bring a younger indiana jones back to the silver screen. obviously, ford is 66 years old now and won't be able to play the part forever, despite having just appeared in the fourth installment of the famous series.
but come on, brendan fraser? i totally buy him as a shut-in who lived in a bomb shelter for thirty five years, but as an action star i don't see that. i actually really like "blast from the past", he was even good in "school ties", but those weren't action films. stick to what you're good at man.
Dragon Emperor doesn't exactly beg for a sequel (neither did The Mummy Returns, for that matter), but it'd be fun to watch the filmmakers try to outdo this dizzy spectacle in the arena of sheer ridiculousness.I m watching The Mummy Tomb of the Dragon Emperor review Here http://www.80millionmoviesfree.com
