Robert Pattinson is so wonderful, and he is the best choice they could have made for Edward!!!!!! He is so hot!!!!

I agree with Jasmine Black... I was a bit shocked as well that they chose Robert Patterson to be Edward, but with the make-up and everything, he does look quite good, and did i mention..HOT!! hehe

i first thought, no way can he be as good as i'd imagined him to be but now i've seen the clips :D i'm sold. He's a hottie.

for some reason i totally pictured edward while reading twilight looking like robert..so when they said he was going to play him, i was so excited! he totally looks the part, in my opinion.

First of all its ROBERT PATTINSON not patterson. and second his looks made him perfect for the part the brown hair and his hight and I totally agree w/ molly.

first off, what's it matter if they get his name right or not. who gives a shit if it's robert pattinson or patterson? the fact of the matter is this, he is a douche one way or another. they horribly miscast him in the part of edward. undoubtedly it will make no difference to the cadre of women who love the books, because they are so fiercely protective of anyone who dare insult their book.

kristen stewart on the other hand i think will do just fine. in fact, i would say she is one of the better young actresses we have today. she seems to have a little bit more to offer than simply sex appeal. she actually appears to have some talent. good for her, rock on kristen.

Yes, of course. Let's -not- believe Stephenie who said these actors are -perfect-. Bella is JUST like how she imagined her, and so's Edward. But, as I've said before, let's not listen to her. Oh, by the way....ROB IS PERFECT!

Of course Rob is perfect!! I was too a lil' bit shocked when i found out that he was playing Edwrd's role but when I saw the first trailer he really looked amazing. he is really cute and is great!!!! Kristen well she is a very good actress but she is missing something so she can actually be Bella but well who knows maybe when the movie comes out they can change our mind right?

Lets face it when you're favourite books are brought to the big screen the actors never totally match up to how you imagine the characters in your head. Judging by all the clips/trailers I've seen Robert Pattinson is doing an ok job as Edward. I'm not sure about Kristen Stewart but I'll reserve judgment 'til I see the movie. I'm the biggest Harry Potter fan too and while I think the movies have been quite good I treat them completely different than the books. I enjoy them but the books are what I'm really a fan of. Just keep loving the Twilight books and just treat the movie as an extension of that love!

I agree with Nimi, the charcters never perfectly match up from the book to the movie. I'll admit I freaked out when I found out the same guy who played CEDRIC DIGGORY in Harry Potter was going to play Edward. I was never much of a Pattinson fan. I still occasionally find myself in the mood to hate Robert, but he seems to be doing an okay job considering he has to play EDWARD. It's probably hard to even get close to that kind of perfection so everyone should give him a break.

Me and my friends were in total shock when they casted Rob as Edward. It took us THREE friggin' months to finally except him when the trailer came out, which by the way is great. And he might not look like Edward to you, but he may to other people and Stpehenie said that everyone pictures Edward differently in thier mind. Rob is perfect, I guess. But Kristen, I don't know, she's a good actor and all but she is missing something that will make her 'Bella'. I just can't figure it out. Other than that, they are doing as best as they can. Its a fiction book so not all of it is real and that's why they have to change things up a bit. I think its going to be a great movie, but if it's not I will be throwing popcorn at the screen and if people yell at me I'll throw some at them too.

Just have some faith in them. By the way, Rob looks pretty hot in that poster xD

Kristen is perfect for the part of bella though, she has the right look of innosence and stuff so yeah, but like i say, there are better picture's of Rob out there..

when i read the book, i never pictured robert as edward, but once i found out he was cast for the role i totally saw it right away!
as of that moment, robert pattinson was forever edward cullen in my eyes.

as for kristen, i think she will be able to portay the role of bella well.

I agree with kristen's voice being a little deep, I think I imagined bella with a higher, sweeter voice. I think kristen has such a strong personality too so I'm not sure how she'll go as a quiet innocent kind of character but I'm hoping she'll prove me wrong :) as for edward, robert pattinson is totally perfect! for those who don't think he's attractive enough to be perfect edward, I saw a clip of him in an interview saying that in twilight, edward is seen through bella's eyes and she sees him as perfect in every way, but because she's possibly "blinded by love" it doesn't necessarily mean that he actually is. ooh and one more thing, stephenie meyer said it was hard to find someone who looked both beautiful and dangerous at the same time and robert fitted that wonderfully, and if you actually look at robert, especially in that poster above, it works perfectly :D

He's perfect as our Edward. He's got the right look. His sense of humor and laugh don't hurt either. He's just really great to look at.

As a lover of this saga, i think that the casters did well. At first i was not sold on Robert Pattinson being Edward, however he has definatly grown on me. Kristen Stewart is the perfect person for Bella. She has something, cant put my finger on it, she is very enigmatic. I am however diappointed with who was cast as Jacob. I see the similarities of Taylor Laughtner, but only as the very very young Jake. I always envisioned Steven Strait as Jake even before I knew who was cast. Maybe he will play Jake in the later movies, as I seem to be one of many who see him in that role. All in all I cant wait for the movie, though I know it will never do the books justice, it is bound to be a great attempt.

I think i should point out that these are not "new posters" but in fact scans done by edwardandbella.net from the Promotional Cards being released by Inkworks, but there still cool, i loved them the first time i saw them.

I swear I'm so freaking amped for this movie at first when I heard they were casting Robert as Edward I was like nooooo because I didn't think he'd do a very good job but I've since gotten over it and now I don't think they could have made a better choice. By the way, does anyone notice that in the second poster Kristen looks like Emma Watson...wtf?

I'm quite disappointed that they chose someone like Robert Pattinson as Edward. He isn't good-looking, at all. They could have picked someone that was way better. He is the opposite of what I picture him as when I read the books. They could have chosen someone better for Bella too. She isn't that great. But it'll do...

I think the casting of Edward is spot-on, though I may not have thought it initially. Robert's face has a lot of strength behind it and I think he has a classic beauty which makes it believeable he is over a century old. His carefully sculpted face with those cheekbones-just how I had imagined...and of course the trailers further solidify these thoughts (especially that charming smirk featured in it)

As for Kristen, she may not be exactly what I imagined, but its way closer than say Emily Browning...Kristen is casually beautiful...Not giving the impression she's consumed with clothes and makeup or being popular...but just as beautiful without those things...and she truly is probably one of the best up and coming actresses-so that helps too!

The Casting of:
Bella= good(especially if anyone has ever seen SPEAK with her in it, Kristen will play the emotions of the second book very well).
Edward= not as good as they could have done, (I was thinking more of a kevin zegers). And I saw the trailer of Rob before I read the books.
Jacob= good (but still up in the air as far as acting goes because he has only been in two other films)

However, casting aside, I am really worried about the movie....nothing is being portrayed in the trailers that is truley similair to the book!!!! Like where is the storm for the baseball game, why does Bella figure Edward out in the woods, and why does it look like Edward is flying more than he is Running??? Also, why does it seem like to me that all the characters they chose to have blond hair are naturally dark haired, and therefore do not look right for the parts---like Carlisle and Rosalie???? I just hope that the trailers are messing with my head and that the movie will actually be closer to the novels that I love so much!!!!

Wow, some of you are really quite harsh, such as those who have resorted to name calling (fred). I will wait to make a full judgment after seeing the film but I think Robert makes a really great Edward, almost perfect. I liked him as Cedric Diggory and will admit that though I was surprised at first regarding the casting I am really happy about it now. As for Bella, I think they made a great choice. Bella shouldn't be some sweet, high voiced, girly girl. She should be strong, smart, sarcastic and real. I agree with Stephenie that Kristen sounds like Bella does in my head.

I thought that Robert Pattinson was going to be a horrible choice for Edward but in the clips I've seen he looks to be doing a great job so far. Then I saw the choice of Bella and I was like oh Kristen will play her well. Now that I've seen the clips I'm hoping they are just bad places for her. :( No disrespect I love Kristen Stewart I just don't know if she is Bella. :'(

Though Rob is an excellent choice, casting Edward is bound to be a difficulty, because as Stephenie Meyer said, Edward isn't someone you can even look at, hes so INHUMANELY beautiful. Looking at him for too long could cause a stomachache. Haha. As for Kristen Stewart. While she is a wonderful choice, I think she is too obviously pretty. Bella was described as being pretty but nothing she knew about and nothing to stop and stare at. Kristen is GORGEOUS. But also, I don't think her personality quite fits. I imagined Bella quite playful and sweetly childish in the sense that she akways needs to be looked after becuase she is sooo clumsy. But, they really couldn't have made a better choice and I'm happy with all the charcters. My favorite choice is definately Ashlee Greene, who is playing Alice. She is absolutely perfect. She is small, pixie-like, and gorgeous. As for Nikki Reed who is Rosalie, I think they definately could of chose someone more beautiful. Nikki Reed is beautiful, but not enough to be the most beautiful woman in the world. I'm sorry if this offends anyone. I don't mean for it to.

i pictured rob as edward from the begining because i already knew who they cast as edward before i read the book. i think they made a good choice picking him. as for kristen, i always thought she was too........well she just didn't seem right (in my mind of course it's different for everyone). now that i have been reading these comments i'm starting to like her a little more for bella. she is a great actress don't get me wrong but for some reason she never seemed like bella to me, but i think we should just wait untill the movie comes out before we judge to harshly. i think we should just give them a chance. :)

I agree about the deep voice of kristen stewart. I think it should be a little bit more sweet. But whenever books are turned into movies there are going to be a lot of differences in the way characters look in your minds and the way the actors look that are chosen to play them. I think that it would have been extremely hard to cast the parts of the Cullen family especially because they are supposed to be so gorgeous. I do think though that they should have cast a natural blond or someone who actually looks good blonde for the past of rosalie. If you look at the pictures of the girl who plays her it looks like she is wearing a horrible wig.

i guess i'll just have to wait for the movie to be shown till then i would make my verdict if the casting was great or well - not great

Robert was gorgeous in Harry P. He'll work for me- but some of the other cast.. i dont know they are supposed to be these Gd like creatures- absolutely beautiful and i think they could have done MUCH better. i'm being judgemental here because they are playing a part that and have been described as such. Rosalie is very pretty but i could have seen another girl playing that part. but that's just me.

well as for most would say Robert is perfect for the role i have to strongly disagree.
My thought of who would play Edward as i was reading the books was Hayden Christensen. In the book it tells how "Edward" has a perfect crooked smile when i thought of Hayden to smile as they described in the books i thought it was a perfect match. I would have loved for him to play the part. Then again everyone does see Edward differently. As for Robert Pattinson he seems to be an okay image for the part, i was extremely pissed off when i found out about him playing Edward but I'm sort of accepting it as i see the clips/trailers. I'll just have to wait for the movie to come out, maybe then he'll change my mind.

Personally I can totally pic. Robert as Edward, I love everyone they have casted as the Cullens/Hales and Kristen as Bella is a great choice. She might not look exactly like Bella (as I had imagined her when reading Twilight) but she is such a great actress that I think she will pull it off with out any problems. Same with the others, it isn't as important to get the looks right as it is the acting skills. As much as someone may look like them its more about the way they portray that person or character. I do think that most should wait to watch the whole movie before judging to harshly, one to two minute clips/ trailers are not enough to dislike someone for a role. And to answer those who have hang-ups about certain scenes being different: you have to remember that if a movie maker were to make a movie exactly like the book they would have to make at least 3 movies per book. And we all know that will never happen. Look at Harry Potter, or LOTR?! It is impossible to get everything exactly the same, plus their different people so things are going to be different. Every reader of the books has read the same words yet they imagine something different. I have every confidence in the director and movie makers on this film to convey the true emotions of the books which is way more important then getting every word exactly the same or having everything look the same. No that I am done ranting, I am super excited to see Twilight!!!!! !

OMG! I think Bella was casted okay. now I'm not saying Edward is not cute but I pistured him WAY Cuter. I mean he's cut from the front but the side view is horrible.
