Screenwriter Carl Ellsworth is set to pen the remake of John Milius’ 1984 war drama “Red Dawn,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. Dan Bradley, second unit director on “Spider-Man 3” and “Quantum of Solace,” will direct the film for MGM.
In the original, a group of teenagers gather to defend their town after the Soviet Union and Cuba invade the United States.
Ellsworth said the new version of “Red Dawn” is going to be very intense, reflecting the fears of people living in a post-9/11 world.
Ellsworth’s writing credits include Wes Craven’s “Red Eye” and D.J. Caruso’s “Disturbia.” He also penned the screenplay for Dennis Iliadis’ upcoming horror thriller “The Last House on the Left.”

I would love to see a remake of this movie. The possibilities are endless (with the state of the world today) to create an almost real scenario of terroism and attack on this country. It's not like it couldn't happen. In fact, it did happen. On 9/11.
