Rob Cohen talks ‘Tomb of the Dragon Emperor’

mummy3editingint2.jpgDirector Rob Cohen is currently busy wrapping up post-production of “The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor,” the third installment in the popular series that kicked off in 1999 with Stephen Sommers’ “The Mummy.”

ShockTillYouDrop’s Ryan Rotten had the chance to pay the director a visit in at the editing bay and chat a bit about the film’s setting and some of its core characters. Here’s what Cohen had to say about shooting on location:
“There are no green screen sets in this movie. I went all over China - the deserts of Beijing. [The scene you're watching] is a 300-year-old Ming opera house that the red guards tried to destroy. There are these beautiful murals in there.”
Brendan Fraser returns as explorer Rick O’Connell, who this time faces the ruthless Emperor Han (Jet Li). Maria Bello, Luke Ford and Michelle Yeoh co-star. “Tomb” hits theaters Aug. 1, 2008.
