‘Earth Stood Still’ director chats about trailer

earthstoodstillinterviewtrailer.jpgThis week we got to experience the first trailer for Scott Derrickson’s upcoming remake “The Day the Earth Stood Still,” and while the footage doesn’t reveal much about the film itself, we got to see quite a few interesting things, including a great Keanu Reeves as an alien visitor and some awesome visual effects.

In a recet interview with MTV News, Derrickson briefly chatted about some of the trailer’s images and the film’s main story line. Here is a little excerpt from what the director had to say about Keanu Reeves:
“One of the biggest challenges of this movie was whether or not audiences would really buy the whole idea — and there’s no question that you buy it, there’s no question that you believe Keanu’s performance. He really thinks through every moment and every beat with tremendous rigor. And he is very clear, I think, about what works for him and his physicality.”
“The Day the Earth Stood Still” opens Dec. 12, 2008. Click here to read the entire interview at MTV.
