Get your ‘Dark Knight’ tickets before it’s too late!

As of today, we’re still 15 days away from the anticipated release of Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight,” but if you seriously plan on seeing the flick on opening night, get online and book your tickets as fast as you can. I calmly logged on to Fandango today to buy a couple of tickets for a July 18 screening at one of Manhattan’s IMAX theaters, and guess what: sold out! So I quickly went back and clicked through all the other showtimes already on sale at the same theater, and guess what: sold out again.
I was finally able to get some seats in a standard screening room at a different theater, which means there’s a good chance you’ll still be able to find some tickets that are already on sale.
Most theaters (especially in big cities) should add a lot more screenings with pre-sale options in the coming week, but considering how many are already sold out this much in advance, it may be time to make some serious plans if you insist on seeing “The Dark Knight” on opening day.
All the hype around this film is just crazy, but it’s awesome to see people can still get this excited about the release of a motion picture. I’m just wondering what will happen a couple of days after the film is released? How long will it take for a similarly crazy hype to build up as quickly around another flick?
