lostplanetcoming.jpgWarner Bros. and Capcom are developing a big-screen adaptation of “Lost Planet,” a popular third-person shooter video game, according to Variety.

Not much is know about the specific plot of the film, but the game revolves around an expedition on an ice planet inhabited by human and a dominant alien species known as Akrid.

Screenwriter David Hayter, whose credits include “X2” and Zack Snyder’s upcoming adaptation “Watchmen,” is penning the script. Avi Arad and Ari Arad are producing.

Capcom has contributed to several video game adaptations so far, including the “Resident Evil” films and the upcoming reimagining of “Street Fighter.”

I’ve never played “Lost Planet” and don’t know whether the plot of the game would make an exciting flick, but as usual, I guess it all (or most of it) comes down to a solid script.
