Short takes: Reeves as Plastic Man?

• Now that Timur Bekmambetov’s action hit “Wanted” has already pulled in $112.4 million domestically, it’s time to step up production on the sequel. As Variety reports, the screenwriters are already hard at work, and the producers are trying to get James McAvoy to return as the lead character.
• According to a source over at Chud.com, the Wachowski brothers are planning to bring “Plastic Man” to the big screen. But wait, there’s more. The source also claims Keanu Reeves will be playing the lead character. At this stage though, these are only rumors!
• Are you one of those few people who always wanted to see a fourth “Scream” movie? In that case, it’s your lucky day, because according to Variety, the Weinstein Co. is planning “Scream 4.” The studio paired up with Showtime to produce a bunch of upcoming flicks, including a remake of Akira Kurosawa’s “Seven Samurai.” Ouch!
• Kate Hudson is the latest to join the cast of Rob Marshall’s upcoming musical “Nine,” about a director struggling to satisfy all the women in his life. Daniel Day Lewis, Nicole Kidman, Marion Cotillard, Judi Dench, Penelope Cruz and Sophia Loren co-star. (Empire)
