First ‘Max Payne’ trailer debuts on web

The first trailer for John Moore’s adaptation of the popular video game “Max Payne” has just debuted online. Although I’m not at all familiar with the game, I have to admit the footage in the preview above looks really interesting. Even Mark Wahlberg seems to have everything under control as the film’s lead character.

In a nutshell, the flick centers on an undercover DEA agent who seeks to avenge the murders of his wife and child. Mila Kunis, Beau Bridges, Chris O’Donnell and Ludacris co-star. Moore’s directing credits also include 2006’s “The Omen” and the remake of “Flight of the Phoenix.” “Max Payne” will kick butt in theaters Oct. 17, 2008.

If this movie is done right and sticks to the incredibly dark style of the game, we could be in for a treat.
