Do you think Doug Liman’s action adventure “Jumper” deserves a sequel? Like it or not, it’s coming anytime soon. In an interview with the Toronto Sun, lead actor Hayden Christensen said Liman is already thinking about developing a second installment. “We’re talking about it,” he said.
Christensen also said he would most likely reprise his role as David Rice, a young man who’s able to teleport himself anywhere he wants.
Apparently, Liman had originally planned to develop a trilogy based on Steven Gould’s sci-fi novel.
“Jumper” scored about $80 million in the U.S. and close to $230 million worldwide. The film will hit DVD shelves in several editions tomorrow.
In my opinion, a sequel to “Jumper” is absolutely unnecessary. I hated the first film, and I can hardly imagine they’ll be able to come up with an exciting enough story for the follow-up.
But hey, the first film did a lot of money, and so will the sequel. I’m just convinced that no matter where they’ll jump, it’s going to suck.
