Although he spends most of the time in front of the camera, Adam Sandler does a lot more than just acting. Besides co-writing most of his films, the comedy star is also busy leading Happy Madison, the production company behind his latest escapade “You Don’t Mess with the Zohan.”Happy Madison primarily focuses on comedies, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, Sandler is more than ready to explore a new genre. In fact, he recently launched the new label Scary Madison, which is set to produce its first project, a thriller titled “Shortcut.”
The film centers on two brothers who accidentally stumble across a hidden shortcut in a small town. As the story unravels, they discover exactly why nobody ever uses it.
Sandler is also currently producing Adam Shankman’s family comedy “Bedtime Stories,” in which he also takes on a lead role. His Happy Madison label is also working on Steve Carr’s comedy “Paul Blart: Mall Cop,” with Kevin James starring as a mall cop fending off a bunch of crooks.
Personally, I don’t see much sense in Sandler working as a producer, because most of his recent projects turned out to be pretty crappy. I just wish this job would keep him off the big screen more often. It’s been a while since he delivered a noteworthy performance.
