Darko to serve ‘Beer in Hell’

tuckermaxcover.jpgDarko Entertainment will produce and finance Bob Gosse’s big-screen adaptation of Tucker Max’s bestseller “I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell,” according to Variety.

In the book, Max recounts a series of extravagant episodes during a trip to celebrate his best friend’s bachelor party. Max and Nils Parker are writing the script.

Max first rose to fame when he started posting his adventure on his Web site at TuckerMax.com. His memoir hit bookshelves in 2006 and is still on the New York Times bestseller list.

By the way, Darko Entertainment was launched last year by Richard Kelly, director of “Donnie Darko” and “Southland Tales.”

I have a copy of Max’s book lying right here on my desk, but I have to admit I haven’t had a chance yet to read it. I did read several extracts though, and it looks really funny and original.
