As hard as it may be to admit, Brian De Palma hasn’t really made a truly fascinating movie in years. Additionally, his recent flicks also tanked at the box office. But he’s far from calling it quits.According to The Hollywood Reporter, the “Scarface” director is set to direct “The Boston Stranglers,” an adaptation of Susan Kelly’s book “The Boston Stranglers: The Public Conviction of Albert DeSalvo and the True Story of Eleven Shocking Murders.”
The film will center on the 1960s Beantown killings and examine questions about the case that still remain unanswered.
De Palma most recently directed the controversial war film “Redacted,” a montage of stories about U.S. soldiers fighting in the Iraq war. His most successful films include “Scarface” and “The Untouchables.”
Many people didn’t like it, but I have to add “Mission: Impossible” to my list of favorite De Palma films. You’re probably going to hit me for this one, but I even liked his 2002 thriller “Femme Fatale.”
