Joe Wright is a passionate filmmaker who has the ability to craft beautiful movies that tell a strong story and look gorgeous. His recent version of “Pride & Prejudice” is still my favorite big-screen adaptation of Austen’s novel, and last year’s “Atonement” even made it into my top five films of 2007.
On Nov. 21, 2008, Wright returns with his latest directorial effort “The Soloist,” a drama starring Robert Downey Jr. as a man who accidentally runs into a homeless musical genius (Jamie Foxx) from Skid Row.
USA Today recently previewed the film and released the first official production still, which you can check out above. Looks great! Now all I am waiting for is the first trailer.
Note: To all of you who love the beautiful scores in Wright’s films, composer Dario Marianelli is back on board as well. Great news indeed.
