News Release date set for Richard Kelly’s ‘The Box’

I don’t know what it is with Richard Kelly’s flicks, but somehow they always take an eternity before hitting theaters.
Take “Southland Tales” for instance. The film first premiered in Cannes in May 2006, and while the cut was not final and most of the special effects had yet to be finished, it still took almost a year and a half before the film finally got its release.
Kelly’s upcoming thriller “The Box” suffers a similar fate. According to Collider.com, the film will not be released until Sept. 11, 2009. That’s quite a long time, considering Kelly is almost done with post-production.
Whatever the reason, I’m still looking forward to it. James Marsden and Cameron Diaz star as Arthur and Norma Lewis, who receive a wooden box that bears fatal consequences. Although the box will bless its owner with $1 million with the press of a button, it will also simultaneously kill somebody they don’t know.
Sound scary enough? Watch out for “The Box” in September 2009. Dang, that’s a long wait!
