‘Disaster Movie’ trailer appears on the Web

Our quick thoughts: Do the names Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer ring a bell? Yep, they’re the untalented makers of the “Scary Movie” series, “Date Movie,” “Epic Movie” and “Meet the Spartans,” and on Aug. 29, 2008, they will return to the big screen with “Disaster Movie,” yet another ridiculous spoof comedy that will likely earn the title of worst film of the year.
This time, the plot (can you call it a plot, really?) centers on a group of immature youngsters struggling with a series of catastrophic events. As you can see in this lame trailer, the film spoofs “Iron Man,” “Sex and the City,” “The Incredible Hulk” and “Juno,” among many others.
Check out the trailer above and feel free to share your thoughts on this flick or on past spoof comedies. I personally think “Disaster Movie” is going to suck just as much as its insulting predecessors.

I think the key word here is "disaster." These type of movies make my head hurt.
oh no! not another one of these movies! They are just reaching for ideas now...its kind of sad really. This one is gonna suck just as much as the ones before it...disaster movie, such an appropriate name.Please, for everyone out there who actually like to watch decent movies STOP MAKING THIS GARBAGE!

We should boycott. Literally, these movies are just terrible. Disaster Movie is what it will be, and the directors know that this movies sucks.
I LOVE those guys and their movies, they're hilaraious! Just because they're not your type of movies doesn't mean they're not good. They're spoofs and spoofs aren't meant to be taken seriously.

Well as long as theres immature elementary school kids these movies will continue to make movies and get funded so that the creators can become richer and continue thieving money from the pockets of movie patrons for many years to come

The vast majority of people despise these movies and the directors/writers not because they aren't "into" spoof movies and don't "get it". They despise these movies because they are lazy and devoid of any type of humor. Spoofing something requires some sort of commentary or satire, these movies simply replay parts of other movies identically with a bodily function or kick to the nuts thrown in. This is comedy? The look-a-likes look nothing like who they are making fun of, and are so terrible that they require a character (or narrator) to announce to the audience who they are supposed to be. There is no story whatsoever, it's just random scenes strung together for a little more than an hour.
One last thing to think about: "Heath Ledger" is listed as a character in this movie. I'm horrified to find out what these to braindead hacks will say about him.
It looks just as pathetic as the others, and I'll most likely avoid watching it. The comedy is too overdone and boring. It was funny at first, but the random getting hit by a car, or a random celebrity getting hit by a flying object humor really is starting to get really old.
