J.J. Abrams to produce N.Y. Times ‘Mystery’ article

jjabramsmystery.jpgJ.J. Abrams is set to produce a feature film based on a recent New York Times article entitled “Mystery on Fifth Avenue,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Abrams will produce the film through his Bad Robot production house for Paramount Pictures. Maya Forbes and Wally Wolodarsky, who collaborated on Peter Cattaneo’s upcoming comedy “The Rocker,” will adapt the article.

The original article by Penelope Green focuses on two parents who bought an expensive New York apartment and turned it into the ideal place for a scavenger hunt for their four kids. The whole place is filled with hidden messages, clues and puzzles.

J.J. Abrams has recently wrapped principal photography for “Star Trek.” He also produced Matt Reeves’ thriller “Cloverfield” and directed “Mission Impossible III.”
