For weeks and weeks, we’ve been watching the little, cute robot being curious in trailers and TV spots, and on June 27, he’ll finally make his anticipated debut in Pixar’s latest family adventure “WALL•E.”Essentially, the story follows a little robot that was built to clean up what is left of Earth, until he finally figures out what he was really meant for. WALL•E doesn’t talk much, but he has a strong personality. And I can hardly imagine anyone who’s not looking forward to learn more about the little fellow.
ComingSoon.net sat down and talked to helmer Andrew Stanton, the man who co-directed “A Bug’s Life” and brought us the magnificent Pixar adventure “Finding Nemo.” It’s an incredibly interesting chat if you want to find out more about “WALL•E,” Stanton’s vision, and his thoughts on why Pixar films rock.
Here’s what Stanton had to say about the robot’s speaking abilities (excerpt from the interview at ComingSoon.net):
“That's what, well, he says two English words, but in my mind he's got a vocabulary that's quite extensive, and I know every beep and squawk that I would use to get a certain emotion and a certain statement. Because when I wrote the script I wrote all the dialogue and then I put it brackets and then I knew that's what we had to convey.”Read the entire interview with Andrew Stanton right here.
