You may have heard of “War, Inc.” before, but in case you haven’t, I don’t blame you. John Cusack’s latest political satire barely made it onto any screens here in the U.S., and the reviews are not necessarily the best either. Joblo’s JimmyO had the chance to talk to Cusack about the film, its negative response and its strong satire. I haven’t seen the film myself yet, but from what Cusack has to say, I can’t imagine it to be that bad.
Here’s a quick excerpt from Joblo’s interview with the “Grace is Gone” actor:
“I like humor, satire or absurdity… I like that feeling you get right at the edge of uncomfortable. I think the movie is funny and fun and brings up all your senses that subversion should be fun and all that, but I also like that space where, should I be laughing or groaning? Is this funny? I think it’s funny but what does it mean that I'm laughing right now? I like that area.”“War, Inc.” will hit DVD shelves July 1, 2008. Just saw War, Inc. and what a great combination of biting satire, quirky story line, and tongue-in-cheek dialogue. This is one of those truely unique, thought provoking flicks that seldom get the promotion saved to make us think more of lesser films.
Good to know, thanks for the tip Tim. Now I really do have to see it.
